Q + A

Are my children invited to the Wedding?

We adore your little ones and know how special they are to you—and to us. For our wedding day, we’ve made the difficult decision to keep the celebration adults-only, with the exception of the children in our wedding party. This choice allows us to create a more intimate, relaxed space where all of you can fully unwind, celebrate, and be present with us. We hope this can be a little night off for you, and we’re so grateful for your understanding and support.

Can I bring a "Plus One"?

While we wish we could celebrate with everyone, we’ve had to make some tough decisions due to venue capacity and our desire to keep the day intimate. With that in mind, we’re only able to extend invitations to those listed by name on your invite. If you received a plus-one, you’ll see their name included. Thank you for understanding and for being part of this chapter in our story—we truly can’t wait to celebrate with you.

Will there be a DD Service?

Your safety means the world to us, and we want everyone to enjoy the celebration without any worries. Since the resort is about 45 minutes from town, we’re encouraging guests to camp on-site if possible. We’d love to have everyone together in one place for the weekend—it means more time to relax, connect, and celebrate as a group! That said, we understand camping isn’t for everyone. For those heading back to Smithers, we’re working on arranging a Designated Driver (DD) service to help guests get home safely after the wedding. More details will be shared closer to the date, including timing and pickup info. If you’re planning to use the DD service, please let us know when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Thank you for celebrating responsibly—we can’t wait to raise a glass (or two!) with you.

What should I pack?

We’ll be providing a delicious dinner at the reception to celebrate together, but other meals won’t be provided throughout the weekend, so please plan to bring any snacks, meals or essentials you might need to get you through the weekend. There are BBQ's on site. Because we’re embracing the beauty of the outdoors, the weather can be a little unpredictable—so please pack layers, comfy shoes, and anything to keep you cozy or protected, whether that’s a jacket, rain gear, or sunscreen. If you’re camping with us, don’t forget your favorite camping gear to make your stay comfortable. We hope you come prepared to relax, enjoy, and make wonderful memories with us in this beautiful setting.

what should I wear?

We would love for everyone to feel a little extra special on our special day. For the ceremony and reception, we kindly ask guests to dress in formal or semi-formal attire—think elegant, polished, and ready to celebrate in style. We can’t wait to see all of your beautiful, smiling faces dressed up and ready to share these unforgettable moments with us!

do we need to pay for drinks?

We want to keep the good times—and drinks—flowing all night long. Instead of a traditional cash bar, we’ll have a donation bar, where guests can contribute what feels right to them. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us and help make this day even more memorable. We can’t wait to share laughter, love, and a toast (or two) together!

Can I bring my dog?

As you know, we love dogs! However, we ask that you leave your furry friends at home. Oshie & Leon will be at the resort the weekend of the wedding and we want them both to feel safe and comfortable. Too many excited dogs (and people!) might be overwhelming for them. Thank you for understanding.
